With graduation in sight, design students were eager to attend the April 2009 AIGA Portfolio Reviews to gain a competitive edge before hitting the workforce in this tough economy. But students were not the only beneficiaries this year: professional members looking for jobs or feedback on their work also took advantage of the event.

Nine top design professionals greeted guests on Saturday with constructive criticism and advice during one-one-one review sessions. Attendees signed up for several time slots throughout the day, allowing them to gain different perspectives and feedback from multiple reviewers. While the participants gained invaluable advice, access, and exposure, the reviewers were also able to scout potential talent for possible internships or employment.
Overall, AIGA Portfolio Reviews provide a unique opportunity to refine and develop an outstanding portfolio. If you are interested in reviewing portfolios next time, or have questions about the event, please contact education@arizona.aiga.org.
