As part of our new Mentorship Program, AIGA Arizona is excited to host a series of intimate dinners with local design legends. The objective of each Dinner with a Design Legend is to bring together a small group of established professionals, designers with fewer than 10 years of experience, students, and educators to discuss the evolving state of our profession, lend advice, and share meaningful experiences. Each dinner represents an opportunity for designers, old and new, to celebrate the past, present and future of design.
This year we also celebrate our 25th anniversary as an Arizona chapter and AIGA's 100th year as the professional organization for design. Through these organized dinners, we hope to provide our community an opportunity to better understand our roots as designers and plan for the success of tomorrow's design leaders.
If you would like to nominate a local design legend or participate in a dinner, please fill out our Mentorship Interest form. Dinner attendees are invited to participate based on their interest in the Mentorship Program.
Bob Case has been an illustrator, art director, animator and designer in Phoenix for 23 years. He’s the CCO of The Lavidge Company and still manages on occasion to make stuff and cling to relevancy.

Join us for a screening of the film, "Persistence of Vision" at FilmBar in Downtown Phoenix. The firm is about a visionary and acclaimed animator, Richard Williams ("Who Framed Roger Rabbit"), who toiled for more than a quarter of a century on to make the greatest animated film -- only to have it torn from his hands. Filmmaker Kevin Schreck has woven together mind-blowing animation, rare archival footage, and exclusive interviews with key animators and artists who worked with Williams on his ill-fated magnum opus to bring this legendary story to the screen. A tale of art, obsession, and dreams, "Persistence of Vision" is the untold story of the greatest animated film never made.
The film has been a phenomenal success at over 30 international film festivals and venues (and counting) on four continents. It's been a massive hit with audiences and critics around the world, playing to enthusiastic full-house crowds, in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, South Korea, New Zealand, Melbourne, Seattle, Minneapolis, Boston, Oslo, France, Toronto, and beyond. The press has called it "[a] fascinating slice of film history" (Variety), "Grade: 'A'... [a] Herculean accomplishment" (indieWIRE), and "engrossing... Kevin Schreck's superb documentary is a surprisingly suspenseful portrait of a kind yet obsessive artist driven to exhausting extremes" (The Seattle Times). Additionally, the film was awarded the two biggest prizes at this year's Buffalo International Film Festival: the Audience Awards for Best of Festival and Best Documentary.
