This position will conceptualize, plan and produce design/graphic presentations for print, web and electronic visual aids, will plan through final production and maintain the project within scope of deadline and budget. The position also will design and/or create graphics to meet promotional and informational needs using a variety of mediums to achieve artistic effects.

Knowledge, Skills Abilities:
Knowledge of:
– Contemporary graphic design principles and typography
– Principles of illustration
– Editing
– Proofreading
– Copyright laws

Skills in:
– Creative design
– Photography
– Evaluation of photography for artistic value and quality as well as resolution for printing
– Preparing camera ready artwork
– Proper spelling and grammar
– Oral and written communication
– Understanding of web and electronic communication techniques
– Using industry standard software

Abilities to:
– Coordinate projects, manage and prioritize workload
– Work under pressure of extreme deadlines and last minute changes
– Successfully communicate orally and in writing
– Interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds
– Successfully operate a variety of tools and equipment used in graphic design and publications work including plotters, printers, and scanners

Ideal Candidate: Position requires three to four years experience as a graphic designer.
