Formed in 1989, the Arizona chapter serves the community of creative professionals within our state. We bring programming to the local design community that helps to:
Improve design ability
Encourage social impact
Connect complementary disciplines
Promote community excellence
AIGA Arizona programming includes our premier annual event, Phoenix Design Week, which typically has included a two-day conference, plus ongoing monthly events and exhibitions throughout the year such as software training, student and professional portfolio reviews, networking mixers, hands-on workshops, and speaker opportunities with local and national experts. Additionally, we are proud to contribute efforts all over Arizona with the Design for Good initiative which uses design thinking to accelerate and amplify social change.
Our chapter continues to increase its influence and demographic reach every year, with especially strong representation in metropolitan Phoenix, a vibrant core in Tucson and an expanding presence in Flagstaff, as well as other communities throughout Arizona. Our student membership – the lifeblood of our organization – is ever-growing and highly engaged, providing a continuum of representation from emerging designers through the most seasoned professionals.

As the profession’s oldest and largest professional membership organization for design—with more than 70 chapters and more than 18,000 members—AIGA advances design as a professional craft, strategic advantage, and vital cultural force. From content that defines the global practice to events that connect and catalyze, AIGA works to enhance the value and deepen the impact of design across all disciplines on business, society, and our collective future.
