In addition, NPR will throw in one other NPR tour poster for any PHXDW ticketholder who purchases any other poster (while supplies last). Please be prepared to show your PHXDW / Beyond Design conference badge at the party.
Q+A Panel will be held at 8:30PM
Prep those questions and get ready to hear JP talk with Jon Arvizu, Alison King and Bob Case as they all discuss the triumphs and the challenges of sustaining the side hustle as a full-time effort. Panel will be moderated by Kathy Morgan.
About the Panelists
JP Boneyard is the creative director of The Fifty-Nine Parks Print Series and The National Poster Retrospecticus. The NPR is a traveling poster show that features over 150 designers from around the world. Fifty-Nine Parks celebrates printmaking and National Parks. The complete park series is archived by The Library of Congress.
Bob Case is the CCO of LAVIDGE, a full-service advertising agency and a dedicated side-hustler. From playing cards to political statements, from solo projects to designer collaborations, passion projects drive Bob's "nights & weekends" obsession with illustration.
For over 15 years, Associate Professor Alison King taught college full time to support her design history research habit. In 2019 she’s flipping the script to support her teaching habit, by taking her side hustle — called Modern Phoenix — full time.
lllustrator, designer and printmaker Jon Arvizu has spent the last 16 years grinding out a career as an independent artist. A balance of advertising work, fine art, screenprinting and a thriving apparel brand all adds up to a full-time hustle.
You might say moderator Kathy Morgan's side hustle is serving as treasurer and all-around mom on the board of AIGA Arizona, which often overtakes her "real job" as Creative Director of the graphic design firm Morgan + Company.
But wait, there's more!
